how did you first get into aerial arts? i would love to start but i don't feel like i'm strong or flexible enough/don't want to be that person who can't get themselves on the apparatus. =/
You’ll be surprised at what you’re able to do the first time. And the whole point is to learn and build up that strength and flexibility so that you can start learning more tricks and doing everything in the air. You have to start somewhere. Most places that offer those classes have either different levels so you can take a beginner course with other new people, or are designed for beginner to intermediate students. They’re there to teach you. As long as give your full effort and don’t just get frustrated and give up, that’s all anyone can ask and hope for. Try it, have fun, dot get discouraged. It’s hard, but it’s worth it, and it is a workout like NOTHING else, you just have to stick with it. Nothing you do at the gym can compare to it, that’s what I’ve found anyway. Keep with it, go every week, if you can go more often, that’s awesome, but stick with it. You’ll get strong fast and you’ll have the most fun you can imagine. I’m super super passionate about aerial and silks in particular because it just makes you feel so incredibly good, mentally and physically. It’s fun and beautiful, and a fantastic way to escape from life for a couple hours. Just try it, you have nothing to lose. You’ll be fine!
